Travelling to School
There are three bus services available for pupils travelling to and from Our Lady’s Catholic High School.
Lancashire County Council (LCC) School Buses
Lancashire County Council provides two school bus services for eligible pupils. These services are primarily intended for pupils who qualify for free school transport, although places may also be available for pupils who wish to purchase a bus pass or pay a fare directly to the operator, subject to availability.
695 – Lea Town Smiths Arms to Our Lady’s Catholic High School via Clifton, Newton Scales, Lea, Savick Way and Ashton Lane Ends.
676 – Longridge Post Office to Our Lady’s Catholic High School via Cumeragh Village, Broughton and Catforth.

The school has arranged and partially subsidises the following bus service to support pupils travelling to and from school:
651 – Garstang Wyre Lane to Our Lady’s Catholic High School via Garstang Bridge Street, Bilsborrow Roebuck, Broughton Post Office, Fulwood Parklands Drive and Mericourt Road, Preston.

Fares are charged using three distance bands:

Annual Bus Passes
Parents may purchase an annual bus pass, which can be paid by monthly direct debit from September to June directly to Walton’s Coaches using the following bank details:

To arrange an annual bus pass, please email jill@wchl.co.uk with:
- A recent passport-style photograph
- Your postal address for delivery of the pass
- Your child’s full name
- The bus stop your child will be boarding at
Daily Travel
Alternatively, pupils may pay daily fares directly to the driver (cash only).
All pupils travelling with an annual pass will be issued with a personalised bus pass, which must be shown when boarding the coach.
Public Buses
Preston Bus:
- 23 – used to travel to and from the bus station via Plungington Road, Black Bull Lane, Sharoe Green Lane and Asda, Fulwood.
- 35 – used to travel to and from the bus station via Fylde Road, Woodplumpton Road, Tag Lane, Ingol and Tanterton.
- 44 – used to travel to and from the bus station via Tulketh Brow, Woodplumton Road, Lytham Road, Cadley Causeway, Tag Lane, Ingol, Tanterton and Cottam.
- 48 – used to travel to and from the bus station via Holme Slack, Longsands, Fulwood, Cadley Causeway, Ingol, Tanterton, Cottam, Larches and Lea.
Stagecoach Bus:
- 40/41 – used to travel to and from Morecambe Bus Station via Lancaster, Galgate, Cabus, Garstang, Catterall, Billsborrow, Broughton Post Office, Fulwood (King’s Drive).
- 111 – used to travel to and from Moss Side, Leyland via Lostock Hall, Preston bus station, Fulwood (Plungington Road), Cadley Causeway and Tanterton.
Staying Late
Pupils who live in the Garstang or Goosnargh areas and stay after school for extra-curricular activities may be able to use a subsidised taxi service where no suitable public transport is available. Places can be booked each day through the Finance Office at a cost of £5 per journey.
