Year 10 Work Experience

All Year 10 pupils take part in a dedicated week of work experience, normally during the week immediately before the February half-term.

Work experience gives pupils first-hand insight into the workplace and an opportunity to develop confidence, independence and employability skills. Preparation begins in Year 9, with support from EWP, so pupils understand the process and are ready to make the most of the experience.

Preparing for the workplace

The wider Year 10 employability programme supports pupils before and around their workplace experience through activities including:

• CV writing
• Mock interview preparation
• Learning how to search and apply for a part-time job
• Employer and alumni careers talks
• College encounters and open-day opportunities
• Apprenticeship talks from local businesses
