The Gatsby Benchmarks provide a framework for high-quality careers guidance in schools and help us ensure that our careers programme supports every pupil to make informed and ambitious decisions about their future. At Our Lady’s Catholic High School, we use the benchmarks to plan, review and continually develop our careers provision.
Evaluating the Impact of our Careers Programme
We regularly evaluate our careers provision to ensure that it is meeting the needs of our pupils and preparing them effectively for their next steps. Evaluation helps us identify what is working well, understand pupil needs and determine priorities for further development.
Compass+
We use Compass+ to monitor and evaluate our careers provision against the Gatsby Benchmarks. This helps us review the breadth and quality of opportunities available to pupils and identify areas where the programme can be strengthened.
Understanding our pupils
The Future Skills Questionnaire helps us understand pupils’ careers knowledge, skills, confidence and readiness for their future. This information informs future careers activities and support.
Destination data
We monitor the destinations of pupils leaving Our Lady’s. Destination information helps us understand whether pupils are progressing successfully into appropriate education, apprenticeship or training pathways and informs future planning.
