Record Breaking GCSE Results 2025

Our Lady’s Catholic High School Record-Breaking GCSE Results

Joy and celebration filled the corridors of Our Lady’s Catholic High School as students collected another set of outstanding GCSE results on Thursday 21 August 2025.

This year’s achievements mark one of the school’s strongest ever performances, with pupils excelling across all subjects, including English and Maths. A significant proportion of grades were awarded at 7–9, placing Our Lady’s students amongst the very highest achievers nationally.

Headteacher Mr Richard Charnock praised the results as a reflection of the school’s values and identity:

“At Our Lady’s we talk about Being One of Ours – grateful, compassionate, eloquent, learned, wise and hopeful young people. These results show what that looks like in action. We are immensely proud of each and every student, not just for their grades, but for the resilience, kindness and determination they have shown on their journey with us. Today we celebrate their success, and we look forward with great hope to all they will achieve in the future.”

Amongst the many outstanding individual stories were:

  • Isabelle, who achieved 11 grade 9s. She will progress to Cardinal Newman College to study Maths, Chemistry, and Biology, with hopes of pursuing a career in medicine.
  • Freddie, who made remarkable progress from his starting point in Year 7, surpassing all aspirational targets and securing strong passes across every subject.

For every student, today’s results represent not just academic excellence but a foundation for the next stage of life. Many will go on to leading colleges and apprenticeships, equipped with the skills, values and confidence to make a difference in the world.

“Our Lady’s is about more than just results,” added Mr Charnock. “It’s about shaping young people of character who are ready to contribute to the common good. Today we celebrate their grades – but also who they have become.”

The whole school community congratulates Year 11 on their fantastic achievements and wishes them every success in the next chapter of their education and beyond.
