Duke of Edinburgh
This weekend saw the return of our Duke of Edinburgh assessment programme after a two year break due to COVID. Fifty students supported by 15 members of Our Lady’s staff travelled to the Beacon Fell area to complete their two day assessment. Over the course of the weekend each group of students walked over 25 kilometres carrying all the kit they would need for the weekend. Once at camp they set up tents and made themselves tea on trangia stoves. The students were outstanding throughout and the weekend saw them not only develop their navigational skills but also their teamwork, communication and resilience. We are really proud of our students and look forward to presenting them with their awards once they have completed their skill, physical and volunteering sections.
